TMX Finance Family of Companies Gives Back

TMX Finance - Komen Race for the Cure

The 2nd Basers

Employees at the TMX Finance Family of Companies corporate office recently showed their support for breast cancer awareness. Nearly 45 of our employees and their family members participated this past Saturday in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 5K in beautiful downtown Savannah, GA. The race kicked off promptly at 8:15 A.M. at the corner of Broughton and Barnard Streets with thousands of runners and fitness walkers. Congratulations to the entire TMX Finance Family of Companies team, 2nd Basers, for participating, but especially to Mike Rhodes, Peter Hemstead, and Shawn Lang, who all finished in under 21:40. Go 2nd Basers!

Giving back to your community and contributing to causes gives one a wonderful feeling and events like this are a great way to build camaraderie outside of the office. The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Series is the largest series of 5K runs/fitness walks in the world. It raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrates the survivors, and honors those who have lost the battle. The first Komen Race took place in 1983 and since then, it has grown from one local race with 800 participants to a global series of more than 120 races with more than 1 million participants.

Thank you to Lisa Brengman, TMX Finance Family of Companies Corporate Accounting Supervisor, for organizing the team. The 2nd Basers have raised nearly $1,000 thus far but the deadline for contributing doesn’t end until May 3rd, 2013. At that time, the 2nds Basers will donate their fundraising efforts and the TMX Finance Family of Companies corporate office will be matching the contribution. If you would like to contribute to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on behalf of the 2nd Basers, please email louise.connell@titlemax.com.
