Maintain Good Health: “An apple a day keeps the doctor (’s bills) away”

We’ve all heard this saying throughout our lives…and studies have shown that it is pretty accurate. In essence, it translates to this – live a healthy lifestyle and you will probably have good health. It’s so important to keep your health as a priority, not only because it makes you feel better as a whole, but it prevents so many other negative things from happening, such as expensive medical bills. There is no doubt that medical bills add up, especially when you are taking medications on a regular basis, having regular doctor’s visits, surgeries, etc… Some medical issues cannot be prevented regardless of your lifestyle BUT so many other medical issues can be prevented.

What should we do?

  1. Eat a healthy diet
  2. Exercise regularly (ie – daily)
  3. Get plenty of rest

What should we avoid?

  1. Eating unhealthy food
  2. Living a sedentary lifestyle
  3. Drinking excessive alcohol
  4. Using tobacco products

Treat your body as you would treat your friend! Be kind to yourself by incorporating fruits, vegetables, and plenty of water each day. Resist the temptation to eat that cheeseburger, fries, and Coke for every meal. And, when and if you do indulge, simply do so in moderation.

Stay as active as you can, because every little bit of movement counts. If you have the option to take the stairs instead of using the elevator, take the stairs. Ride your bike to work instead of driving. Cut the grass with push mower instead of a riding mower. Join a gym and participate in the classes it offers. Practice yoga a couple of times a week.

And don’t forget to get the proper amount of rest for your body. Our bodies need to recuperate after all of the physical work we do. And, our minds need to unwind and relax.

Most of us already know and believe these tips to be true, but we must remind ourselves daily to live this way. Following these tips should help alleviate some of your unwanted medical bills. If, however, you do get medical bills and you find yourself in a financial bind and need additional funds, TitleMax® is always here to help you.
