Several of our TitleMax® team members in Spartanburg, SC are giving back to their community by volunteering for a local soup kitchen, Ms. Lou Landrum’s Spartanburg Soup Kitchen. Will B. (TitleMax® Spartanburg #1), Jamie F. (TitleMax® of Spartanburg #2), and Tracy G. (TitleMax® of Spartanburg #3) have graciously spent the past several weeks working with others in, and around, Spartanburg by serving anywhere between 300-600 hot meals daily to the hungry (with 100-200 of them being small children).

The Spartanburg Soup Kitchen has been in operation for 29 years, providing mid-day meals from 11:30am – 12:45pm each day – 7 days a week – 365 days a year! Each home-cooked meal is prepared fresh and strictly off of donations from local businesses and churches. (They receive no government funding.) Additionally, this group of volunteers provides anywhere between 800-1200 bag lunches for the children in Spartanburg each weekend to ensure that each child has at least one meal a day.

In addition to serving hot meals, the Spartanburg Soup Kitchen also provides hygiene for the homeless and partners with New Horizon, a company that provides minor medical care as well as free medications for those who cannot afford them. TitleMax® of Spartanburg stores #1, #2, and #3 are also partnering with them for a “Back 2 School” drive. The volunteers work tirelessly to acquire donations of not only food, but also clothes and school supplies for children in the community whose parent can’t afford them.
